Profoto's Arrival in LED Cinema Lighting
Profoto is proud to introduce its first-ever LED fixture for filmmakers, the L1600D Daylight Mono-LED Light. Combining efficiency and advanced features, the L1600D is focused on speed of use and superior light quality with an all-in-one IP54 body. Greatly respected for plenty of strobes over the years, Profoto has now developed the L1600D Mono-LED with state-of-the-art LED technology carefully thought out for the highest demands of cinema lighting.
Experience the purest of light with 5700K CCT, multiple control methods, and dual mounting options for the most extensive array of Profoto and Bowens modifiers. The unit's ergonomic design with no separate ballast and included swivel yoke translates into a huge time-saving solution and more freedom on set. Its power, size, and weight are all worthwhile attributes for any professional lighting setup needing reliable, speedy operation.
Mono-LED Technology & Innovation
Delivering the lighting quality that Profoto is known for, the L1600D has the advantages and conveniences of a powerful continuous light source. Intended for use in high-end video productions, this 1600W point-source LED fixture will give you accurate colors, and most importantly, exceptional flicker-free brightness at any frame rate. A unique, patent-pending HydroCTech cooling system handles heat from the LED and its power electronics, ensuring longevity and silent operation. Profoto thought about every aspect of this light to present it as the compact yet powerful LED solution that studios have been waiting for.
All-In-One Design & Impressive Brightness
The L1600D is the first light in the Profoto all-new Mono-LED category. According to the company, 97% of its electric input creates light output, which is at least 20% more efficient if compared to similar fixtures with an individual ballast and light head. You might think that 25.8 lb is a lot of weight for a significantly compact light, but when you remember that it doesn't require a ballast and how much light you'll get from it, the weight is justifiable. The L1600D outputs up to 3850 lux with its built-in 60° wide reflector, expanding to an impressive 49,000 lux using the included 12° boost reflector, both within a considerable distance of 16.4'. By expanding the L1600D's output, the boost reflector offers 10x increased brightness for a long throw of light.
The Purest of Light
You expect reliability and precision from Profoto's trusted standard in professional lighting, but they've pushed the envelope with a high CRI/TLCI of 97 as an indicator of superior performance and accuracy in color rendering. With a fixed 5700K CCT just a bit cooler than most daylight fixtures at 5600K, light control is provided by precise 0.1 to 100% dimming without introducing flicker. The L1600D will maintain its color temperature throughout its dimming range, while linear, exp, and log dimming curves make sure color rendering is as accurate as possible regardless of your chosen intensity.
Intuitive Onboard Control
The L1600D has been built to naturally integrate into the filmmaker's workflow, increasing productivity. Advanced control is one of the highlights of this fixture. The unit builds upon the remarkable quality of Profoto products and combines features that make it more versatile and easy to use than ever. The settings are adjustable with an intuitive onboard user interface. Elegant, minimalist local controls are combined with a clear screen display to facilitate onboard adjustments.
Advanced Control Methods
The L1600D offers wireless Profoto Air Radio connectivity from up to 328' away, plus compatibility with the Profoto Control, Lumenair, and Blackout apps. The fixture also provides DMX 5-pin XLR connectors and integrated LumenRadio TimoTwo CRMX to give lighting technicians and programmers complete control over its operation.
Unparalleled Light-Shaping Options
One of the greatest conveniences of this light is its ability to take both Profoto and Bowens mount optional accessories, a major characteristic that allows it to combine the light with a broad number of separately available modifiers. Users can easily choose between Profoto's proprietary mount or standard Bowens for almost endless light-shaping possibilities. The sturdy Profoto adapter included in the box is capable of taking heavy-duty optional modifiers up to 10 lb. Specially designed with an enhanced yoke featuring a patent-pending swivel functionality, the L1600D significantly reduces setup time, so gaffers and DPs have more time to focus on their creative vision.
